Intensive Care Unit
Intensive Care Units provide high chances of survival for critically ill patients. Department of Critical Care Medicine at Qadri Hospital looks after critical patients with acute, life-threatening illness or injury. Patients are admitted to the ICU in case of life threatening situations like acute renal or liver failure, acute respiratory distress, and cardiac failure, multiple organ failure, septic shock or coma. Many a times they are also admitted for close monitoring after major surgery. This move helps in stabilizing the patient and reducing the chances of infection and other post operative complications.
ICU’s at Qadri Hospital cater to many specialties such as general surgery, gynecology & obstetrics, and accident & emergency care to name a few. The intensive care comprises of various forms of life support and organ specific support care like mechanical ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, chest tube induced coma, use of vasoactive drugs and renal replacement therapy. The ICU’s also provide the latest forms of ventilator support like the High Frequency Oscillator (HFO) and Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenator ECMO (commonly known as ‘Artificial Lung’).
The nurse-patient ratio stands at 1:1 for patients on ventilators and 1:2 for other cases. The units are supervised by an inclusive team of full time senior ICU specialists with extensive training and experience in critical care medicine. We have multiple bedded and multi disciplinary Intensive Care Units with a dedicated team of qualified Critical Care Consultants which is equipped with :-

Patient care and safety are significantly enhanced by 1:1 nursing for all ventilated patients and 1:2 nursing for non-ventilated patients. An active in-house training program ensures that all the nurses are fully trained and up to date in their information. Dedicated Nursing station, central monitoring, clean & dirty utility areas and a team of dedicated specially nurses.
