Blood Bank

Blood Bank

The collected blood is centrifuged into its constituents- red blood cells and plasma. We also have a separate facility to extract platelets from the donor and simultaneously returning the blood back into the donor’s body. A lot of tests are performed before the blood reaches the patient.  Your blood is used to save lives and improve health. Blood transfusion is needed for:

  • women with complications of pregnancy, like hemorrhage before, during or after childbirth
  • cases of severe anemia in children due to malnutrition or malaria
  • severe trauma in victims of man-made and natural disasters
  • people with conditions of thalassemia and sickle cell disease
  • making products such as clotting factors for people with hemophilia
  • and many more medical and surgical procedures and cancer patients

As blood can be stored for very little time there is a regular need for it. A sufficient number of donations from healthy people are required to meet the need for safe blood wherever and whenever needed. Blood is one of the most precious gifts a human can give to another human
